TAG-Confucius Institute Celebrates Confucius Birth
The ceremony included a Chinese language competition and special documentaries attended by students and fans of the Chinese language
AMMAN------November 27, 2011--------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG-Confucius) celebrated the anniversary of the birth of ancient philosopher Confucius who was born in 551 BC in a special ceremony held at the Institute headquarters.
The ceremony included a Chinese language competition and special documentaries attended by students and fans of the Chinese language.
Dean of the Institute, Mr. Tshing Yu Gang, expressed his satisfaction with the students' increased desire to learn and master the Chinese language during a short period of time.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mustafa AlHusseini, the Institute’s director emphasized the Institute's pursuit to communicate with students in order to encourage them to participate in the events, cultural seminars and competitions held by the Institute.
He added: "The Institute is currently developing future plans for the enrichment of Chinese language courses, and increasing the Institute’s participation in various events."
At the end of the ceremony, the students thanked the Institute’s management for organizing this event and expressed their willingness to participate in upcoming events.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute was established in September 2008 to promote the Chinese language and culture, in order to reach a better mutual understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures. This is one-of-a kind initiative based on the cooperation agreement between Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) and the Confucius Institute in China. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history. Confucius' thoughts have influenced China and other areas in the world for nearly 2000 years.
