CAIRO --- January 10, 2011 --- HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), inaugurated in Cairo the headquarters of the Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization (AAPSO), restored under the auspices of TAG-Org.
The Afro-Asian Peoples' Solidarity Organization is a mass non-governmental organization with national committees in more than 90 countries in Asia and Africa, and has associate member committees in Europe and Latin America.
AAPSO President, Mr. Ahmad Hamroush, addressed the audience highlighting the services that HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh and TAG-Org extended to AAPSO, in an embodiment of the very essence of Arab-African solidarity.
In addition, Mr. Nouri Abdul Razek, AAPSO secretary general, commended the support provided by TAG-Org.
HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh thanked AAPSO President and Council for giving TAG-Org the opportunity to perform such a duty.
HE Senator Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his pride in being an honorary member of the Organization, which amounts, according to him, to a struggle, historical and regional icon.
Attending the event were, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, diplomats, men of intellect, politicians and national and public figures.
The guests wandered around the building expressing their admiration of the artistic and elevated work carried out by the Engineering Projects Management (EPM) managed by Dr. Adel Alsamadouni.
It is worth mentioning that AAPSO was founded by late Egyptian president Gamal Abdul Naser.
Back in January 2009, the “Towards an Afro-Asian Knowledge-Based Society Initiative” Founders’ Conference was organized by the Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization (AAPSO) and the Arab Knowledge and Management Society (AKMS) in cooperation with the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org), with the participation of high ranking official delegates and experts in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from both Africa and Asia.
The conference then discussed the mechanism of building a knowledge-based society and developing an Afro-Asian coordination council to achieve a knowledge economy.
In addition, one of the topics tackled was the creation of an Afro-Asian network for knowledge-based societies to exchange information and be updated with the latest developments in the field.
