A speech by HE Senator Talal Abu-Ghazaleh at China Import and Export Fair

Your Excellencies
Ladies and Gentlemen
Friends and Colleagues

I couldn’t be more honored and delighted to have been invited to address you today, during the China Import and Export Fair Seminar which will be the launching pad for a brighter future on so many levels.
I have always said we have a great deal invested in each other’s success and today is a witness on this great achievement that we have been seeking for so long as we watch China's economy stands strong against the world turbulences just like its Great Wall.
Today, we celebrate achievements of our long cooperation in many fields that will guarantee a better future for the next generation.
The great Republic of China armed with 7000 years of wisdom saw that the name of Canton Fair should be replaced with China Import and Export Fair as a two-way road and an opportunity for exporters who want to enter the Chinese market.

Your Excellencies

Our agreement with esteemed China Foreign Trade Centre signed on 13 January 2010 is unique and significant and we are proud to be part of it and eager to achieve results just like you do.
In conformity with our agreement, we shall provide our services through our office in Shanghai as it is the only Arab office licensed to work in China in its field, in addition to our Jordan office which represents Confucius Institute that offers cultural services to the Jordanian society. Also, we were requested by the Chinese Embassy in Amman to issue and facilitate travel visas and procedures to all who are interested in going to China.
Our aim is to introduce the magnificent world of the China Import and Export Fair to local investors in order to facilitate business interaction and create a strong bridge of communications among all parties.
We are working closely with all countries in the region through their local public and private sectors to have booths for their products during the China Import and Export Fair.
We are also promoting a host of seminars and meetings for Chinese businessmen with their Arab counterparts in various fields that will be beneficial for both parties.
I look forward to meeting you at Canton Fair in its 109th session which takes place twice a year and we hope to rebuild the Silk Road between China and the Arab countries and construct a bridge of relations to serve our countries.

Ladies and gentlemen, you know better than I that we will only succeed if we strive to work together, share our passion and trust each other and this moment is really precious for all. Our aim is to enhance the Chinese-Arab partnership for the benefit of both worlds, we will work with the officials of the Fair on developing plans to achieve best results

Let us take this once step further on our journey to rebuild the Silk Road between China and the Arab world.
