TAG-Confucius Conducts 1st Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK)

AMMAN----May 2, 2012-------- Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Confucius Institute (TAG- Confucius) has conducted the 1st China's Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi or the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) for a host of interested students.

The HSK is an international standardized exam that tests and rates Chinese language proficiency. It assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ abilities in using the Chinese language in their daily, academic and professional lives. The new HSK consists of a writing test and a speaking test, which are independent of each other. There are six levels of writing tests, namely the HSK (level I), HSK (level II), HSK (level III), HSK (level IV), HSK (level V), and HSK (level VI). There are three levels of speaking tests, namely the HSK (beginner level), HSK (intermediate level), and HSK (advanced level). During the speaking test, test takers’ speeches will be recorded.
According to Mr. Zhang Chengyu, TAG-Confucius Dean said: "We will be conducting the HSK several times a year in response to the high demand by students who want to learn and pass the Chinese language test. We are proud to be one of the institutions around the world and especially in this region to offer a range of courses in Chinese which cover basic, intermediate and advanced levels."
TAG-Confucius has recently signed an agreement with Han Ban to become an official center for the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK).

understanding between Arab and Chinese cultures. The Institute was named after Confucius, the world-renowned great thinker, educator and philosopher in Chinese history.
