TAG-KS and MEU Sign MoU to Train Students in the Technology Field

The MoU aims to increase investment in human resources and enable them to employ new technologies to better engage in practical life

AMMAN-------December 19, 2011-----------Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Knowledge Society (TAG-KS) and the Middle East University (MEU) signed an MoU in the field of training which gives the students the choice to select five training courses out of ten through the University’s Middle East Consultancy and Training Center.

The MoU aims to increase investment in human resources and enable them to employ new technologies to better engage in practical life.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Mustafa Nasereddin, International Affairs Executive Director and MEU's Professor Dr. Taleb Al Saree in the presence of HE Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, chairman and CEO of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and the MEU President of the Board of Trustees Mr. Yacoub Nasereddin.

HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh said:"This MoU paves the way for cooperation professionally and academically and will be considered a model among universities and relevant institutions and we are looking forward to entering a new stage in the higher education field to serve our society."

Meanwhile, Mr. Yacoub Nasereddin stated:" We were keen on establishing a non-traditional university and we aim to keep up with modernity and education to improve the academic model to serve the society. This MoU serves students and combines theory and practice especially that it is signed with one of the most prestigious organizations with significant experience regionally and internationally."

The delegation toured the University during which HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh expressed his satisfaction with the level of services presented to students.

Meanwhile, HE Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh delivered a lecture under the title "Knowledge Societies and Knowledge Makers" in which he talked to more than 300 students about his experience starting as a student without any financial means or support and turning into a global personality.
He stressed the significance of the modern technologies in realizing tangible benefits saying that the Internet can achieve democracy and the world is witnessing information age which will transform to a knowledge age.

He added that knowledge can make fortune calling on students to learn to serve their country calling on all to shift from education to learning since the difference is huge between the two concepts.

“The good citizen is the responsible individual who takes part in serving his or her community,” Abu-Ghazaleh concluded.
